The Masscraft Jamboree
Every day we’re building spaceships. Dialing in the details, planning out colorways, and defining what makes the spacecraft of the Fringe unique and exciting. Soon these ships will be yours. We must prepare.
The Masscraft Jamboree is an event held sporadically when the opportunity to christen a large amount of new spacecraft arises. Ours is generously being sponsored by LeakProof Tech (don’t forget to check your gaskets!). The Jamboree will be composed of five challenges to both prepare for and celebrate the launch.
For each challenge that you participate in, you will earn a new loot card. That’s right, by just showing up for each one you could earn 5 loot cards. And these loot cards will be very valuable for upgrading your spacecraft or purchasing a higher tier of spaceship.
And there are many more prizes. In each challenge numerous mech suit upgrades will be rewarded. Five legendary Drifters will be given away, along with fifteen void veterans and thirty mechsuits. One Drifter will get into the film.
First here’s an update on the spacecraft.
The Ships
There will be 20 distinct spaceship models and numerous colorways for each one resulting in a collection of 63 unique spacecraft.
We are in the process of creating the Spacecraft Trading Depot. A new loot card will be released that functions as a “bartering currency.” You will be airdropped an amount of this new loot card based on the number of Drifters your wallet holds. Any loot cards you’ve received prior can be burned for more of this new loot card too. You can use some or all you have acquired to purchase your spacecraft. Holding more Drifters and earning more loot cards will allow you to access higher tiers, but even those holding only one Drifter will be able to mint a base level spacecraft.
Also, we can’t wait to go out and pitch this movie and be able to say, “And by the way, we’ve already made all the spacecraft.”
Challenge 1 - Get Your Drifter in the Movie
Start Date: TODAY (May 17)

The Fringe team will select up to 30 entrants to proceed to the next round. All complete entrants to Round 1 get a loot card. You can enter has many drifters as you hold.
Round 2 (May 22): Each entrant will have 100 words to answer a creative prompt. Judging for this round will take place in Discord via community vote. The top 5 will be awarded mech suits and make it to the final round.
Round 3 (May 31): This round will ask the five finalists to really dig into their Drifter’s backstory via a final prompt. The Fringe team will host a Twitter Spaces to live discuss the characters and pick a winner. Winner will receive a legendary drifter AND have their character added to the film.
Challenge 2 - Navigate the Void (and get a Murk Ring)
Start Date: June 8
Not much is known about the mysterious Murk Ring, a tool used to ease navigation through the Voidcloud. Still, the smartest and most capable of ship pilots swear by it, citing the Ring as instrumental in their ability to safely and quickly reach their destinations. That said, its usage is not for everyone, and not every pilot has the skills to control a Murk Ring.
This puzzle will put your skills to the test: do you have what it takes to navigate your spacecraft through the Voidcloud?
Every correct submission gets a loot card. First five correct submissions will receive a Void veteran Drifter.
Challenge 3 - Drippy Invasion
Start Date: June 17
Did we mention this Jamboree is brought to you by LeakProof Tech? I hope we did because we’re contractually obligated to. Also per our contract LeakProof has requested that one of our five challenges feature their beloved mascot Drippy. In this challenge entrants will be tasked with photoshopping Drippy into situations that match his trademark anxiety.
All entrants get a loot card, five runner-ups will receive a mech suit, and one winner will get a legendary Drifter.
Challenge 4 - LEGO Spaceship Building Competition
Start Date: June 27
We are going to try so hard to get you to play with LEGOs. The task is to make a spaceship out of LEGOs that would exist in the Fringe universe. There will be a few additional parameters in place that we’ll announce when we get closer, but if you’re thinking of joining in, now is the time to start gathering your bricks. This challenge will simultaneously be held on Instagram and Discord. Winner will get their spacecraft 3D modeled and entered into the movie.
Every entrant from the Fringe Discord will get a loot card, and two will be awarded legendary Drifters. Additionally, 20 entrants from the Fringe Discord will get mech suits and 5 entrants will receive a Veteran; these will be awarded not just for quality but also for a number of odd awards like “least amount of pieces” and “made us LOL.”
Challenge 5 - Assemble Your Crew
Start Date: July 18
Starting with a narrative prompt, this challenge asks you to select the 5 Drifters you believe to be the best fit for a crew. There will be a crewing period for you to assemble your crew, either all on your own or by teaming up with other holders. When crews are locked and loaded, the Fringe team will hold a live Twitter Spaces taking all crews through a narrative journey. Over the course of several rounds, crews will survive or be eliminated, culminating with one crew remaining at the end. More details will be revealed as the event gets closer.
All entrants receive a loot card, and the winning crew will receive a large bounty of loot cards, and every winning team member gets a Void veteran.
The Launch
If everything goes according to plan the Spacecraft Trading Depot will launch shortly after we complete the challenges. Hold in your ghosts, we’re just getting started.
Iconography is the symbol in the top right of your Drifter card. The metadata of your drifter should give its name. And theres more info about the symbol in the compendium (https://compendium.fringedrifters.com/iconography). Alignment is the temperament range used in role playing games (from Choatic-Evil to Lawful-Good).
There's more info on both if you click through to the submission link.
Hi, soz for being dim but can you elaborate on what you mean by iconography and alignment so I can better answer?
